The Rengstorff House is Mountain View’s oldest historic house and is one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast.
While the Rengstorff House is a wonderful example of architecture in its own right, it is also a prime model of adaptive reuse. Today this beautifully restored historic house museum provides the perfect setting for visitors to acquaint themselves with the attributes of the 19th century. The Friends of “R” House invite you come to the Rengstorff House and experience one of a kind exhibits, living history programs, memorable holiday events, and much more. Find us on Facebook and check our calendar often so you are assured not to miss a thing.
Complimentary docent tours are held throughout the year on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and are given by Mountain View Parks and Recreation docent volunteers. Tour times are subject to change without notice. Donations are always welcome and proceeds go to the Friends of “R” House to further our educational mission.
The Rengstorff House is located inside picturesque Shoreline at Mountain View at 3070 N. Shoreline Blvd. Mountain View, CA 94043. Come out and enjoy the house, stroll through the gardens, enjoy the sailing lake, and take in the wonders of the wetlands and bird sanctuary.
